Goodbye 2020! You will not be missed

I know you've read a million times at this point that 2020 has been hard for everyone. This post is going to reflect that. When I skimmed the post I wrote at the beginning of 2020, I realize that I did not accomplish nearly as much as I had set out to. Big things happened, but there was also a lot of empty space where I didn't write at all. Like many others, my mental health took a hit this year. And I've also done a ton of adulting with graduating college, figuring out my po

The Road Less Traveled: Writing My First Poetry Collection

Most poets organize their collections by writing a ton of poems and then picking out the ones that share a common theme. I'm not like other poets (cliché and cringey, I know. I'm just such a special fucking snowflake :P) But I did the complete opposite of the norm for my first poetry collection, and it's been intereeeesting. It all started in the Fall of 2017 when I wrote a poem titled "A Question 'Bout the End We'll See". I won't share it here because it's really quite awful

Ready for a challenge: a prequel, a sequel, and poetry

This is year is going to look a lot different. For the first time since I was three years old, I won't be going to school in the fall. I'm so ecstatic! I want to dedicate a lot more time to my writing now that I don't have to worry about classes, homework, research, clubs, and a job on top of that. It was so much. There was always something on the horizon to be worried about, but now after my workday, I can relax. My writing process is changing, and I have big plans like work

    Writing Poetry Till Further Notice

I don't know how it feels like this year will never end and yet it's gone by quickly. Compared to last summer, I feel like this one is going by faster, especially June. June just came and went in a blur. I was busy all month scrambling to find a job and a place to live since my original plans were postponed due to covid. But anyway, it's already halfway through July and I feel like this blog is overdue for an update. If you haven't heard me shouting about this from all my soc

    2020 Resolutions

Welcome to 2020! I can't believe we're back in the 20s. I have big things planned this year, but before we get to that,

    Writing Goals for February

Hey all! Hope you're having a good start to your year. My year's been pretty good so far, though it's also been slow on the writing front. I haven't gotten as much done as I had hoped. Though I did a year resolution post, I didn't go over my past monthly goals or set new ones. For this post, I'm going to review the ones I made in December (and technically in that post, I didn't say if these were December or January goals). Also, a year ago this month I did my first monthly go

    What's Been Going On?

It's been a while. I'm sorry. But this semester has kind of been a mess but it's almost over. Since I've lasted posted here, I've: Published Sensuality., my poetry chapbook, and uploaded the recordings onto YouTube Participated--and won!--NaNoWriMo for the first time! I haven't read at an Open Mic Night. It's just been such a hectic semester I haven't had the time to prepare. I didn't make a monthly goal post for October or November. And I've hardly been active on this blog o
